Open Enrollment is your once-a-year opportunity to add, delete or make changes to your benefit plans!

Enrollment Portal Options

Some plans (like Dental & Vision) are now in the UNC Benefits Enrollment Portal. Just like last year, you will make your Open Enrollment benefits selections by using the two enrollment portals in ConnectCarolina Self Service:

This year, however, you will notice that some of the plans that were in the State Enrollment Portal in 2022 are now in the UNC System Enrollment Portal. In fact, this year you will use the State Enrollment Portal for ONLY your health insurance and tobacco attestation. You will use the UNC System Enrollment Portal for ALL other plans and updates, including Dental, Vision and life events.

Use the UNC System Enrollment Portal for:

• Dental
• Vision
• Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
• Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
• Cancer
• Critical Illness
• Life insurance

Use the State Enrollment Portal for:

• Health insurance
• Tobacco attestation

How to Enroll

You have two ways to do your Open Enrollment:

• Online through ConnectCarolina Self-Service Page .
• Over the phone by calling both the State Enrollment Center at 855-859-0966 and the UNC System Enrollment Center at 833-862-1490.

Be sure to complete your Open Enrollment by 11:59 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27. Upon the completion of enrollment, please make sure to save a copy of your confirmation page for your records. Additionally, it is recommended that you complete your open enrollment before the deadline just in case you have any questions or if you experience any technical issues.
